Top 5 Newborn Must Haves

Transitioning into motherhood is challenging. Especially it todays age, where we are constantly surrounded by advertisements saying, “You need this, you need that” So let me help take the stress off and share with you what I have found to be the true, everyday mom, “must have products baby products” If you are expecting a baby yourself or looking to give a practical gift to a mom to be, check out this list and see if anything helps you!

Love To Dream Snuggle UP-

I don’t think there are many brands of swaddles I haven’t already tried and these are the only ones my babies have liked. I start using these swaddles as soon as my kids are born to help them learn sleep associations. If you’re thinking about picking on up, take note they are sized according to weight, not age. See my post 5 Things I Would Do Differently After Finding Out I was Pregnant for why I recommend getting gender neutral colors.

Covered Goods Multi-use Nursing Cover

Even if you aren’t nursing, this in an absolute baby must have! I have tried three different brand multi-use nursing covers and while they are all similar, these ones from Covered Goods are my favorite. They come in an assortment of colors and patterns and the tops are larger than other brands I have used, making it easy to look down and see baby napping or nursing.

NielMed Naspira Oral Suction Aspirator

Lets face it, not all of motherhood is as glamorous as Instagram makes it out to be. You will want to have this product on hand before you ever need it! This particular “snot sucker” as we refer to it, has a much softer, curved tip making it much more comfortable to your little one. The clear design comes in handy when its time to clean and they come with additional filters which makes it a little less gross, right? If you have multiples, make sure they each get their own, this is not a product to share between siblings!

Baby Wrap

For the newborn stages, these are a must have especially if you already have a little one at home! You will find lots of versions of these online and my only recommendation in buying is to keep in mind the climate in your particular region. If you live where it is fairly warm year around, try searching for one with a thinner, more breathable material or if you are like me and the weather gets reasonably cold, go for one with a thicker, lined material! I will have one of each linked below!

Graco Pack ‘n Play with Portable Bouncer and Bassinet

The all-in-one package. This is another product I will use with every single baby, every single day, starting the day I bring them home. We had our Pack ‘n Play set up in our living room with the changing table attached when I got home from the hospital with both babies. I had a really hard recovery and having a quick, portable, easily assessable changing table came in handy. Davis is six month old and still uses the portable bouncer attachment, which you can throw in the washing machine if it ever gets dirty. Consider getting a few friends together and all pitching in to give this to a special momma to be in your life!

Thanks again for joining along! Don’t forget to help other mommas out and comment some of your baby must haves. Your support means the world to me.

Lots of love,

Momma Haf

  1. Having read this I believed it was really informative.
I appreciate you taking the time and effort to put this short
article together. I once again find myself
spending a significant amount of time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worth it!
